The Paul Bunyan Statue in Bangor, Maine has been a prominent landmark since 1959. Standing at 31 feet tall, this colorful fiberglass statue was a gift from a New York group of builders to commemorate their 125th anniversary. It depicts the legendary lumberjack alongside his blue ox and has become a popular photo spot for visitors. The statue is located in Bass Park and serves as a tribute to Bangor's forestry heritage, attracting thousands of tourists annually.
I could just feel Pennywise was going to get me! 🤡🤡🤡

Iconic statue located in the heart of Bangor, A giant lumberjack and folk hero in American and Canadian folklore. Also has been used on the IT movies. Really cool free experience to check out in bangerWould recommend
Ritchie W — Google review
Just the 31-foot statue. There was no plaque that I could see. And of course, there is a no climbing the statue sign. No bail money, so I refrained.
Rhonda Y — Google review
Legend has it that Paul Bunyan carved the Grand Canyon with his axe 🪓 Come visit him at this statue! (Smaller than his real size, obvs). No obvious parking, you'll need to pop into a nearby business' lot.
Stacey T — Google review
Myself and a group of my coworkers arrived in Bangor, tired and late at night. The next morning we woke up to find ourselves in the heart of Stephen King's country. It was rainy and grey the next day, but that didn't stop any of us from wandering around. The first thing we saw after leaving our casino lodgings was the Paul Bunyan statue. Naturally, we wandered over for photos. Much later, I would hear about how the same statue attacked characters in Stephen King's novel It....I can see it now.
William M — Google review
Cool drive by or stop to stretch your legs. He’s huge! Near Stephen King’s home so if you’re in the area both are cool stops.
Reagan E — Google review
I liked this statue, really a symbol of strength and size. Bangor's must visit attraction. Love it!
Kidilan T — Google review
A statue of Paul Bunyan who tried to kill one of the characters in Stephen King's It 2. Atmospheric!
Alla S — Google review
We parked across the street and walked over. The statue is impressive in size. As a fan of the movie It, I enjoyed seeing it in person!
Joline T — Google review
Pretty great Paul Bunyan statue. Was being painted when we visited, so it's nice to know it's cared for. Would have been 5 stars if he'd had his ox with him.
Jon J — Google review
This is a very well made statue of that great lumberjack Paul Bunyan He stands eather thirty one (31) or thirty two feet tall (32). Parking is not close so I parked across the stree in the Circle K parking lot that has a sign for Circle K customers cars will be towed at customer expence. Sincce it was a Sunday afternoon I took since I was only there fir about 10 minunits. No Babe the blue ox.
Moving R — Google review
Very cool seeing Paul! Had forgotten this was a part of Stephen Kings novel!
Shannon S — Google review
Delightfully creepy and odd, this is a brief must-see for fans of Stephen King's "It". We parked behind the Cross Insurance Center and walked around to the statue on a rainy Saturday. It's much bigger than you expect.
Joe S — Google review
This is a neat statue but I wouldn't drive out of my way to visit this statue unless you're really into Paul Bunyan. It was on my way to another attraction on my list, so I stopped to see the statue. No admission charge to see the statue.
Monica S — Google review
Interesting statue in a less than ideal location. Safe area but just not a fitting location for the statue.
Nathan J — Google review
No ticket was required. We like the odd attractions. Not as impressive as the Jolly Green Giant and Little Sprout in Blue Earth MN, but was worth the visit to us.
Kevin D — Google review
This is an odd statue it just appears and it is so much in the middle of no where. But Paul is so big it gives me the shivers. Very manly too with his flannel shirt and full beard. However, the green jeans make me question things.
Gay V — Google review
Really cool statue. The parking was across the street and had to walk through a park to get to the statue. Definitely a must see in Maine.
Scarlett R — Google review
extremely fun, much bigger than i expected it to be
Emma W — Google review
The statue is huge! It is in a public place, so there is no charge to visit and take pictures. You can park in the back of the building that it is in front of and we had no problems parking. There’s a harness racing track where you can see the jockeys and horses behind the building. There is also a European Market on the side street on the weekends, I’m not sure about in winter.

My wife and I spent the day there from our cruise ship that anchored offshore. Rented a Chevy Bolt and drove around the island, stopping when and where we wanted. Gorgeous views on a sunny day in May.

The BEST vacation I've ever had and I've been to the Caribbean and Europe! You get everything from mountains to beaches to cute little towns to wildlife right in front of you. Acadia is just breathtaking too. It takes about 30-40 mins to get from 1 side of the island to the other as well, it's the perfect family vacation.

Sights & Landmarks
Fort Knox State Park is a historic site that features a 19th-century granite fort and a modern bridge with an impressive 420-ft. observation tower known as the Penobscot Narrows Observatory. This engineering marvel, which opened in 2006, spans over 2,120 feet and stands tall above the surrounding landscape. Visitors can explore the intriguing past of Fort Knox using informative signage throughout the park and enjoy scenic views from the top of the observatory.
This state park is amazing and one of the coolest I’ve been too! Not just cool in the sense that it’s interesting but also cool as in cold when your inside the fort which is great on a hot day! This place makes a great summer time activity! When your inside the stone area’s of the fort are like air conditioning with a cool breeze! When visiting this park give yourself hours of time… there is a ton to see. Not to be missed are the open water batteries outside the fort. As you are walking to the fort there is one on the left and another just past the entrance. They have long descending stair cases that lead to multiple rooms that were used to heat cannonballs sufficiently enough to ignite wooden ships! So cool!Inside the fort there is a grassy inside area open to the air/sky and then the perimeter or enclosed area of the fort is all walkable , even the roof which is grassy. As you walk through there are these really cool hallway that ascend with steps . There are windows to your right and on your left there are different rooms you can walk into. Some were quarters for the workers to stay in or rooms that they would gather and eat. There is a display in one room showcasing how they produced gunpowder in the fort and even a huge bakery! Like i said there is enough to see to spend hours there! Bring your camera/phone , there are really cool photo opportunities and the fort it’s self is amazing to photograph as well! When your done at the fort head over to the Penobscot Narrows bridge and observatory! It’s the tallest bridge observatory open to the public in the world! A very cool experience! The bridge itself is a beautiful view but once you take the elevator up 420 feet you’ll have 360 degree views of the Penobscot bay area. Just don’t look down when you step of the elevator… yikes.. that’s a tough one for the stomach! It’s a long way down! They have viewing from all four walls that are entirely windows and there are great displays showing you all you are looking at, like the mountains, towns, rivers and the bay. Very cool and educational!I definitely recommend a visit and remember it’s a perfect thing to do on a hot day! Enjoy!

This place is truly amazing. The architecture is so rich with beauty. There's a small giftshop with free maps, get a map! Also recommend, bring a flashlight! They have a new exhibit that is set up, awesome. We spent an hour here, would've spent longer if it wasn't closing. Amazing views from the main entrance. Highly recommend!

Fantastic views from the bridge observatory! The fort was so interesting and we spent a lot of time searching all the hidden nooks and dark halls. So worth stopping!
Sally V — Google review
For its age (1850's) this is one of the largest and most well preserved military forts in the country. History buffs can easily spend the day exploring this amazing property. Bathrooms, gift shop, museum, snacks and beverages are available. Parking is plentiful and can accommodate any size rig or RV. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming.
Will H — Google review
This is a well preserved Fort and historical location. The displays are well done and the Park Staff are super nice. We enjoyed the ride up the tower and walking the Fort. We spent 2 hours and if you have a chance to bring a picnic there are lots of tables and beautiful views. Price is reasonable and nice clean restrooms.
Theresa H — Google review
The fort is mostly hidden from the river - you can tell it's there, but not how extensive the fortifications are. Very well preserved - inside and out. Right next door is the observatory 450 feet above the river atop the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. A great view of the Maine coast from MDI south, as well as the town of Bucksport. Glad we came across to tour it.
Jay P — Google review
This was a fun historical place to stop. The grounds were pet friendly, and we were able to walk our dog around the fort. We arrived at the gift shop around 4:30pm and they were already closing for the day, even though it says they are open until 5pm. We still enjoyed our time learning about the fort. There were not RV/Bus/Camper parking spots, you have to take up multiple parking spots. Also have to pay when entering the parking lot.
Kate J — Google review
My fella and I really loved how serene the sunset was here. We took a few pictures and videos with the drone. (Those are coming very soon.) This would be a great place for a kid's party.

I’ve loved this place since I was a teenager. I brought my son here once before when he was still in a stroller. It was so exciting to come by the other day now that he’s 6 and also running his own YouTube channel to film for. We had a blast! Such a nice fort to explore! Check out our videos on Hammocks to Coasters as well as Teddy’s Treats & Tours, both on YouTube.

I recently visited Frotnox and had a wonderful time. The views from the top of the fort and the observatory were super nice. The fort is really big, and I got a little lost because I didn't have a map lol. Throughout the fort, there were some things that told you about its history. In some areas, it's pitch black, so a flashlight is recommended when you go. Overall, it was a beautiful and enjoyable experience, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Ash L — Google review
Bigger than I expected. Nice grounds to the fort. Not a lot of exhibits inside, but some great views, good place to stretch your legs. Didn't realize the observatory is actually the bridge tower with an elevator ride up.
Doug H — Google review
We had a blast walking the fort and going up in the Observatory! This is a true gem in Maine. I am so happy I saw the event pop up on FB. Can't wait to take my son.
Tamia F — Google review
It’s a toss up which is better – the observation tower or the fort. Both offer great views and are a nice juxtaposition between the modern engineering and the historic architecture. Lots of cool, dark passages tunneling around the fort. And the 360 view from the tower is breathtakingly beautiful. Can’t beat the price to do both (especially for a family).
Thom H — Google review
It's absolutely amazing. The architecture and how well this place was crafted back then is so cool. Take a flashlight for the tunnels around the ditch. Parking is easy and admission is cheap. Definitely worth the visit.
Brandon L — Google review
Good parking for fort and bridge.Well organized with minimal wait times and good space in the observation deck.Fort Knox was well maintained and an interesting look into the past.

The views from the Inn are incredible! It was so fun to stay there after our visit to the observation tower on the bridge and Fort Knox. Very comfortable bed. There’s even a small fridge and microwave. Make sure to reserve a room with a view. It’s worth it !
Jessica H — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the fort. The kids enjoyed checking out all the rooms. If looking in the water, keep an eye out for dolphins (we seen one). The observatory is a must. Beautiful view from above.
Andrea W — Google review
Always a great time at the Fort, we love running around and exploring all the hidden books and crannies. The observatory tower is great too! The view is spectacular!
Derek B — Google review
Awesome drive to get there. The overlook is gorgeous. Not alot to do besides look a one sexy as bridge, (can you tell I'm an engineer), and some read about it's history. Plenty to do I in the area so great starter destination for an area tour.
Jesse B — Google review
This was a cool place to visit. We were able to roam freely. We had to use our flashlight on our phone because some areas were dark. The observatory is 442 ft high which you take an elevator for. Very happy we went there.

Amazing views from the observatory. Quick little ride up to the top. The compass on the floor is very nicely done.

We visited the state park and traveled across the bridge on a weekday. It was a wonderful experience for our boys who love Legos and bridges. Gave them inspiration for more creations. The staff of the Observatory was friendly and encouraged my son, who is not huge fan of heights, to climb to the top level of the observation deck. It was worth our drive, views were stunning even on partially overcast day.

This place is so pretty. I wasn’t expecting all that, but totally worth the trip. The view from the bridge tower is gorgeous.

This bridge connects Verona island to Prospect. This is the only bridge observatory in the US. It has a great view from the bridge. I did not get a chance to make it to the observatory deck. I should try doing it the next time I’m there. This bridge is the longest bridge in Maine. The view from the bridge is amazing. The design of the bridge is great and it’s well maintained.

A cool bridge observatory to look at the area from a high point. It’s a nice thing to do while traveling through the area.
Wassim A — Google review
This is one of the coolest attractions in the midcoast area. Pro tip: go around 430pm and have the place basically to yourself. Definitely pays to ensure you visit when the weather is clear so that you can see far and wide from the observatory.
Anastassia L — Google review
Lots of parking for the fort and the bridge. Well organized, with minimal waiting and the observation area wasn’t crowded and offered good views of the surrounding hills.
Spence T — Google review
Really amazing place to visit! You have to purchase admission to the fort and the bridge at the gate when you drive in. They have an elevator all the way up to the top. If you have trouble with heights I do not recommend going up. The views are amazing and they have plaques with information about the area.
Hilary C — Google review
Just an incredible place to stop and take a break from driving. There're two things to see there, the bridge and the observatory on the top, and the fort. One can easily spend a few hours just checking them out. Highly recommended.
Din G — Google review
This was a great surprise during our drive to Acadia National Park. It is well worth the entrance fee and delay to experience. As someone who has spent 30 years on civil works construction projects, this is something we all can be proud of. The bridge is beautiful and well built, and the observation deck is a wonderful public amenity. Check it out!
Bruce S — Google review
Beautiful views and the staff are very friendly Fort Knox is worth seeing as well
James J — Google review
I have been waiting to go up this tower for years and it was neat. The views are outstanding. We were there at peak fall colors and it is gorgeous. I used to live in Bucksport and watched the bridge be built so it was cool to see the town from that perspective. I wish there was a little more history of the old bridge or more information on the engineering of this bridge. But you can't beat the view and that is exactly what your getting. Try to get there on a sunny clear day for the best view .
Jeremy J — Google review
Great fine! Our group loved it. Great views. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly!
Marsha T — Google review
You will cross this bridge as we did taking route 3 from Augusta area enroute to Bar Harbor. We actually crossed this bridge for first time about 3 yrs ago. We also went up inside the tower to the observation floor. The bridge is an amazing site and very high off the river below. The construction amazed me as I was in the construction and design field before retirement. The towers are all native granite and the tallest in world that you can actually ride to the top in an elevator. I have gone up in the elevator to the observation deck and the elevator is very smooth riding and quite fast actually to that level. The views from the top are panoramic and amazing. The suspension cables are enormous in size to support this bridge. As you enter the tower, you will see a compass etched in the granite slabs outside the entrance. The craftsmanship of the etchings and the entire bridge structure are amazing! I feel this is a must see to drive across and go up the tower. There is a nominal charge to ride the elevator up the tower. When we went we paid to get into Fort Knox and the bridge tower at the gate to get in.
Stephen A — Google review
This architectural wonder is a must-see for anyone traveling through the midcoast region. Just a stone’s throw from Bangor, the observatory at the top of the tower of the bridge offers 360° views of the surrounding towns and out into Penobscot Bay. The interpretive signage is professional (and accurate) and the cost to go up is minimal (especially if you’re a veteran: $2.50). The bridge is adjacent to Fort Knox, allowing a combo ticket to be purchased for both venues, if desired. Take some time to have an ice cream from the gift shop and look out at the placid river. Great summertime stop!

Hooligans Steak and Ale is a historic establishment located on The Pier in OOB, offering a unique blend of Irish pub vibes with a New England twist. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment including comedy shows and music performances. The pier itself features various shops, sports bars, and dining options, making it an exciting destination for tourists. While the food at Hooligans Steak and Ale is described as good, some find the portions to be small and prices somewhat high.
We love Old Orchard Beach. There were a few things open in April, but not much. It's worth mentioning, there aren't any public bathrooms open and neither are most of the restaurants. There were a few ice cream shops and a few other little trinket shops open. The pay and Park lots are also closed. There is limited amount of curbside parking and a few other places that have free parking. They do have 2 port-a-potties near the public bathroom if you're brave. Everything else opens May 1st. Regardless, the beach was wonderful as always.

This was not worth the $$. My daughter and I had scallops, steak, lobster roll and nachos. The top layer of nachos were good but it was plain chips no cheese etc on the rest, the scallops were way overcooked i think in a microwave as the edges were like rubber, the onion rings ere good the steak not done enough but tasty the waiter was indifferent. It was hot inside and crowded. The positive was you could see the ocean The bill was $111 so not worth it

Jessie, one of the coolest security guards that I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet with, such a wonderful smile, great energy and he actually made me and my family feel safe and I was so welcome to be at hooligans. I’d highly recommend the atmosphere for anybody who wants to have a good time with karaoke and have some good food, and remember to ask for Jessie he’ll keep you safe.😊❤️

Great drinks, but I wouldn't order any food here. Waited close to an hour, they were serving meals too people who came in after me. I ordered the surf&turf. The sirloin was over cooked and the scallops were under cooked and the slaw was very warm. They did get the fries right and I can't say a bad word about Adam slinging drinks behind the bar.
Shawn S — Google review
Only there for a few drinks. Great views of the beach and waitress was awesome. The prices are crazy though. 2 small beers ( not local or special) and one small Pina colada was $35.00 😳

We were just charged an operation fee of 4 percent of our meal to " keep the doors open". If we had known,we would never had gone. Food was okay, prices way high as to be expected, service was great, but the customer already pays to keep the doors open. We told everyone at our hotel and they all said " not going there".

Fun evening with dinner and fireworks. The lobster and clam dinner was very good. We were able to sit at our table and watch the fireworks. The staff was friendly and professional. The live music was enjoyable.

This was our first time here. The walk out on the pier was crowded and entertaining! You can’t beat the ocean views. The restaurant had an extensive bar, no draft beer or bottles, only cans. I would say that is minor but my only fault we found. The atmosphere was beach like and old but it was not objectionable. The sliders were all open and there was aFantastic ocean breeze! Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Another thing we enjoyed is we did not feel rushed out after we were done. We had nachos and beer. The nachos were very good and the serving was large. We will definitely go back when in the area.
Jim P — Google review
My family and I recently went on a trip here on a recommendation made by my daughter. Seeing as the family I went with are from a different state and I had never been before, we were all pleasantly surprised to see that there were many activities for us to keep busy with. The beach was beautiful, while the water was shivering cold, once we got used to it we were able to make great memories here. The amusement park was great, all the rides and games that were available was well worth the 2 hour car trip that we had to take to get there. There are many shops along the sidewalks, all of which are in close proximity to each other and are filled with souvenirs for everyone. One thing that I think could be improved is the pricing of the general area. The restaurant and shops, while nice in quality and quantity, have some truly ridiculously expensive items. My daughter and sister ordered two burgers with fries and wings, the total was over 70 dollars. The food was pretty good, but the wait time and pricing for it definitely was not worth it. Keep in mind, not all shops are like this, but you definitely need to go often to figure out which shops are best for certain items. I also think that the fact there are no free public rest rooms is a little ridiculous. The staff was very nice, but we had to pay 50 cents every time we needed to go to the bathroom. Some other restrooms were 75 cents. It may not seem like a lot, but for the amount of people in my family, thats about 7 dollars added to the trip. Again, it may not seem like much, but parking was 35 dollars,(later on in the night it was reduced to 20) over 70 for food, 30 for beach toys, (a bucket and shovel and umbrella) and about 20 for 3 ice creams which actually was the most reasonably priced thing here (the portions were ginormous!) Over all, the trip was enjoyed by everyone I had brought with me and was very relaxing. I would 100% recommend to someone and I plan on going again next year!

Our first time at old orchard beach and our first restaurant to kick start our vacation, very excited from everything our friends told us about old orchard beach. We drove two and half hours to get to old orchard beach after working all day. By the time we got checked in most of the restaurants were closed but we were starving. We saw this place with variety of food for all of us to enjoy. As soon as we sat down the waiter told us the kids has to be out by 10pm. Not realizing the time, we asked him what time it is. He said around 912pm. We thank him, got up and started to leave. As we walked out the guy guarding the front door said to us if you’re here for food and drinks you can stay as long as you want eating we not going to kick you and the kids out. We thank him and said that is all we want food and drinks and started to walk back inside sitting at the table we were at.The same waiter came over, took our food and drink order. Just as we were eating our waiter came over and told us “the kids have to leave it’s 10pm” and proceeded to say “I told you guys in the beginning, the kids have to leave, did I not tell you that”. We told the waiter, the man at the front door said we can stay as long as we are eating food. The waiter said he’s new he doesn’t know what he is talking about and said my manager said you have to leave. We asked him if he could check with his manager because the guy at the front door said as long as we are here eating we can stay to eat. The waiter very upset went back to check with his manager and came back saying ok my manager said you can stay and eat. By than our kids were crying and our appetites were gone. We just asked our waiter for the check and a box to pack the food and left. Our very first restaurant experience at our very first old orchard beach vacation experience….hope the rest of our week stay gets better from here.

Awesome experience! Maria was an amazing waitress! It may not seem like much to most people but when I ask for water along with my drink she brought my wife one as well. Came back frequently enough to make sure we were taken care of. And when we got our loaded nachos she even went back to let the guys in the kitchen know that we were very impressed. And kudos to the bartender because they make one hell of a drink.

We came an hour ago, we were really excited to eat at this place as we saw the really good reviews on Google. As soon as we arrived, we were shocked with the attitude of our male waiter, he was extremely rude from the beginning. We wanted to order some drinks while we were choosing our food, he came with our drinks, I ordered a cocktail and honestly it was horrible, tasted only vodka he forgot at least 2 other ingredients, when he came back I politely asked about it and he told me with such an arrogance “you’re not a bartender :) “ I didn’t even touch my drink but I paid for it anyway. I tried to talk to him asking why he was so aggressive with us and he told us he didn’t want to talk with us. I honestly try to be as empathetic as I can but he just ruined our night with his behaviour, we left the restaurant.

Not your typical beach town Pier, at least from the ones we’ve been too. There’s all kinds of shops, sports bars and places to eat all on the actual pier itself, which was cool. FYI, the bathrooms are .75/ea to use, which we thought kind of strange. We walked all the way to the end of the pier, realized we were very hungry and we decided to order some food for dinner and sit sit out on the Sunset Deck of the Patio Pub at the end of the pier. Food is good, but is kind of pricey and portions are somewhat small. You’re basically paying for the atmosphere and the scenery. It’s a great place to people watch.

I guess being on the pier where there are thousands of people, qualify of food would be lacking. I loved the location, but the food was definitely disappointing. I had a Ruben ( it was too dry and salty), and my spouse had buffalo wings ( i guess we can't expect too much outside Buffalo, but they were absolutely soggy)The best thing was the blueberry aleBlue paw by Sea dog- absolutely amazing! It's so light and refreshing with the perfect hint of blueberry

Went in mid- September. The weather was great. They had a car show that weekend and the pier had a good crowd. Not everything was open, but enough to shop or dine. I love the rustic feel of it. People were friendly.

(for night of June 7th 2024) Rarely write reviews, but wanted to write a WARNING to other patrons. Had dinner at the bar, bartender felt the need to automatically run a 20percent tip on our bill (2 person party) without telling us and then denying it after the fact. We only realized because my friend was from out of country and has an app that notifies him of charges. We asked the bartender about it, but he denied it and then avoided us for the rest of the time. I had already put a 25 percent tip in cash on the bar, but took it back once we realized... The bartender was happy to double dip if given the chance, and his confidence suggested it was not the first time. 59 bucks for 2 hamburgers and 2 beers is pricey enough without employing thieves. The food itself was decent, we got the bacon jam burgers, so no ill will to the kitchen. If you go, maybe only pay cash? But I prefer not to support workers like that myself.

Clam chowder was straight up frozen crap out of a bag that they brought up to a lava hot temp before serving. Chewy, horrible hot garbage.Bartender was nice.Chicken broccoli Alfredo was sent back by a table next to me, it was mush and had no broccoli. They 86’ed it on the spot. It was only 7:30 PM….

Located in Ogunquit, Maine, this beautiful white sand beach is a popular summer destination for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. The soft sand is nearly sugary in texture and makes for a pleasant beach to relax on. Ogunquit Beach also features numerous vendors selling beach toys and beach gear as well as food stands that sell lobster rolls, fried clams, and burgers.
Very beautiful beach. We went on Saturday and it was packed.Unfortunately the restaurant was close 😕, so only ice-cream and shakes are available.Rest rooms were clean and housekeeping staff was cleaning the rest rooms regularly. We really appreciate there hard work.Parking fee is 25 dollars for whole day.I think Parking is close after 9 pm.Country side area around the beach is beautiful.Water on this beach is very cold.Overall our day was fantastic there.Hopefully we will be back soon.

Hands-down best beach in New England, if you can stand the frigid water temps. The combination of tide variations, currents, and rolling sandbars makes for really fascinating wave patterns and tidal pools. At low tide the beach stretches out for hundreds of yards.

Absolutely gorgeous. Great for kids since there is a bay side that is shallow without the waves. Very soft white sand. Really clean. Parking is hard though so walking or the trolley is best.

I am in awe of Ogunquit Beach. Truly spectacular place for a run/walk with family during the low tides. We went for a morning walk before the sunrise and the beach had a mystical beauty due to the morning fog that I never had come across in any other beach that I’ve been to in the past. The beach area also seemed endless with soft sand that is wonderful for the family. I will definitely come back here in the near future to appreciate the rare nature that this beach offers!

Best beach out there. Beautiful, clear water. Plenty of parking, restrooms, a few shops and places to eat as well.

The beach was amazing. We visited on a 21st July,2024(Sunday) while driving back from Woburn. The beach was very crowded, and we had trouble finding parking. The water was so chilly that I didn’t take a dip, but it’s still a great place to visit in the summer. There are many good food options nearby, and overall, the beach is very clean and fantastic.

This is a highly rate beach in Maine. There wasn’t much beach/sand area due to the tide. Very clear water and the sand area was clean. The water was cold but that was to be expected. The kids enjoyed the beach. Not many shells. There is a beach shop and a few food places to grab something to eat while at the beach. There is a restroom and shower available near the parking lot. This was a nice beach, but not as nice as others I have visited.

This beach is humongous! Even on the hottest beach day, there’s plenty of room! The sand is great and the beach is clean. The adjacent Ogunquit River also has a beach. Limited public parking on site. Best beach on the coast.

This is my favorite beach. I've been coming to Ogunquit Beach every summer since I was a baby. It's beautiful and clean and the sand is amazing. I spent 5 days there a couple weeks ago and I think it was the best vacation I've ever had. I absolutely love it.

I love this beach in the winter as much as the summer! Huge area when tide is low. Not much space for beaching when high tide. Amazing for walking. Lots of parking. Public bathrooms too! Close to center of town. Lots of shops around.

Amazing beach. We travel a lot and we compare this one to Mayflower Beach in Cape Cod. Of course, water is cold so ocean water activities are limited, but this is Maine, so not subtracting one star for that. Absolutely bring inflatable for kids or teens to go up and down the river. When tide is going in, the river water is flowing in and kids can ride all the way from mouth of the river at ocean, under bridge, to sand flats, get out in right, then walk through parking lots back. When tide is going our, the flow reverses and they can ride back from last the bridge into the ocean. It’s a lot of fun for them! The beach is HUGE when tide is out. Almost too large haha looooong walk to the ocean, but gorgeous!Be there by 9 AM to find parking. We were on a cool not hot day, Saturday, partly clouded, but Labor Day weekend and we took one of the last 5 remaining spots at 9:20 AM. Beach is wonderful. Bring inflatables for the River.Subtracting one star as it is not possible to get out on main road after you are done with the beach. There are multiple converging roads and no street light. Traffic is at stand still and some have stop sight and others don’t, however, people ignore stop sign because otherwise they will never get out, and that intersection looks like the worst one I have ever seen with all cars in the middle of it congested driving in different directions.

Google Maps takes you to a private resort with no public access to the beach. You are going to have better success reaching the beach 🏖️ using Ogunquit Public Beach. If you walk from the public access, you might be able to get close to the spot where Google Maps says the beach is.Ogunquit Beach is great 👍! It connects to Footbridge Beach, which is also a great beach ⛱️. The tide 🌊 can be very high and space can disappear.Even on a warm day in February, there was a good crowd there.I like to visit even though the parking 🅿️ is expensive 🫰.

Probably the best beach in the area. It’s clean, it’s smoke free (except for the occasional Massachusetts transplant who’s come up from Hampton) and there’s tons to do in town.Be sure to check the tide chart before you get stuck on the rocks.

A quaint little sea side town. Sure, it’s mostly a tourist trap with all the shops, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t super fun and that I couldn’t find cute things. The smell of the ocean is amazing, and all the boats are amazing to watch folks work. Worth the visit. Plus, leads to the gorgeous Marginal Way.

Finally! I didn't have to be stuck in traffic in the summer to visit! I walked the Marginal Way trail from Stearns Rd, which isn't very far.Enjoyable short walk around the Cove and across the bridge. Nice views of the ocean 🌊 and the fishing 🎣 vessels. I'm not certain how much parking 🅿️ is, but, space is limited and there is a parking 🅿️ meter to pay. Public restrooms available.Restaurants and shoppes to check out. I only visited a cafe since my time was limited.Go off season, end 🔚 of April, to avoid the crowds and go early.

The Strawbery Banke Museum is a living-history museum spread over 10 acres, showcasing various buildings, gardens and crafts from different periods. It features around 40 buildings, including the Pitt Tavern and Goodwin Mansion that reflect the American revolutionary sentiment and Portsmouth's most prosperous time respectively. The Abbott's Little Corner Store from 1943 is another highlight of this eclectic museum.
Still working to present the truth. Learning from history and progressive understanding of Strawberry Banke early Portsmouth settlement happens here. Always improving. Need for more honesty and Integrity Always. All of us. Sum of Us.

This is outside walking museum of colonial Portsmouth is worth the time and entrance fee. Give yourself at least 3-5 hours and bring a picnic lunch as they have nice picnic tables. We enjoyed hearing the actors who provided tours and information on the various homes. There is so much to explore here and if you like history you will get a good understanding of this part of town. The furniture is mixed between authentic period pieces and some reproductions but most are truly hundreds of years old. The gardens are beautiful and well kept and the homes are accurate from an architectural and archaeological perspective. We loved it.

Strawbery Banke is the absolute best. The folks that work there are clearly so passionate about Portsmouth history and they put on the most spectacular events. Our favorite is Ghosts on the Banke, which is just magic. We also recently visited for the Heritage Breeds baby animals day and it was so adorable. Lots of space and grass for kids to run around, explore, and burn some energy. But also really calm and peaceful.

I visited the Strawberry Banke Museum with my sister and brother-in-law the other day and we were all completely amazed and thrilled with the quality of the historic buildings in the historic neighborhood. I visit a lot of historic sites and I have to say this is one of my favorites and I became a member so that we can go wherever we would like. It was truly like taking a step back into history and the knowledge that one can gain there is limitless. I am so thankful that people had the foresight to preserve this beautiful neighborhood for those of us to enjoy many years later!I had been planning on visiting the museum for years and I am so thankful I finally made it happen. I can’t encourage people enough to go visit if it has been in one’s plans. I can guarantee that you won’t leave disappointed and your life will be enriched from the experience. I can’t wait to go back again! It truly is a wonderful piece of history and a true gift to society!

This was a great Museum. It has free and ample parking. It is a good thing the ticket is good for two days as we closed the Museum and went to finish the next morning. There is a lot to see and learn. The people portraying people from the past are extremely good and don't break character.
Andrew K — Google review
The workers are very knowledgeable and really make the experience worth it. A few of the houses have general history but plenty of them are set up for viewing a specific time period. So unique that the houses are on the original sites. Really great to see these places restored and preserved.
Kaitlin T — Google review
Very cool experience that felt like we had gone back in time. You’ll get to tour an entire neighborhood of historic houses that have been preserved and there are a few employees acting in character from different time periods. We went to the corner store and learned how to get our food rations during WWII, we saw chickens, we learned how they cooked and what they ate in even earlier centuries, and we also got a simple demonstration on weaving! We even learned that in the taverns they used to pass around a bowl of rum for everyone to sip on!
Kristen M — Google review
One of a kind museum which preserved pretty much the entire neighborhood. Adult ticket costs $23. A few houses have been moved here. This place demonstrates the stories of the sailors and navies in the last couple of centuries who used to live here. It also gives a broad overview of how water level used to be and how people used to handle tides etc. The best part of the museum is that there were two live actors who pretend to be like it's 1912 or 1943. They are funny and hilarious, I had a chat with one of them for 20 minutes, he was talking about his sons that they were preparing for world war 2. He also asked me to show my ration card to buy food from his store!!

I love this place, it's a must see in Portsmouth. Plan for a half day at least, we went with kids so we were kinda capped at about 2.5 hours but wish I could spend the whole day there! Great experience. This living museum really stood out and the role playing staff added a very unique element to our visit. It was fascinating to interact with them! This is a great historical park, with period buildings that describe what life was like in another era. Staff is in dress costume to match the time and are very good talking about what occured in the early days of America. In the winter, there is a skating park. Easy walk to shops and restaurants afterward. I thought the day spent there was lovely.

This was a great way to explore the history of the area and see some cool gardens and restored buildings. there are a few "living / learning" roll players not they're not in your face. Hampton Beach State Park, located at the mouth of the Hampton River in New Hampshire, offers a classic New England seaside experience. The 50-acre park features white-sand beaches with tidal pools for kids and a vibrant boardwalk lined with restaurants, shops, and amusements. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, sunbathing on the well-maintained shoreline, or taking leisurely strolls along the water's edge.
This is a good beach for locals or vacationers as it's usually well kept. There's an assortment of shoppes open in the summer and enough activities to spend the day here. The beach is beautiful in winter, the sunrises are just as stunning in February as they are in July. Worth a visit if you're in the area, but there are definitely better areas 20-30 minutes away in Maine. If you happen to be visiting between May-August the center of sea creatures in worth a visit. Located on the beach, it's a small building with a one-way walking loop inside. There are touch tanks and more information than most can digest in a single visit. The staff are very passionate about their studies as most are undergrads working for the summer. The beach shoppes are what you'd find at pretty much every other recognized beach / pier area. Toys and summer clothes are available for a higher cost.If you're 21+ Bernie's Beach Bar is a great place to spend a (probably drunken) evening and night. They have a live showing venue on the second floor with a few mini bars, then a connecting deck with a full bar. We came July 2022 to see Lil Jon and some local artists perform. Not a good place to bring a 'pack of smokes' though, they do a decent search at the door and got mine from the inner seam of my wallet. Oops!

Awesome state park. Parking was a little bit of a challenge but we finally found some. The beach was mostly clean. It was busy but not crowded on a summer weekend (not a holiday). The bathhouse could use a cleaning but we got there around 3:00. There are plenty of shops for food and last minute beach supplies. My only con is parking. Wish there was a shuttle or trolley that ran in the summer to reduce the traffic and parking issues.

Scenic beach in the New England area. The cities of Concord and Manchester are nearby. This is a perfect summer destination to add to a New England itinerary, especially headed north to Maine. My itinerary started in Boston and ended in Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Maine. The Atlantic waters are cold even in the summer. The sunrise is something to behold. On the weekends and holidays, try to get here early for parking opportunities. If headed upstate New Hampshire the white mountains are a must see especially in the fall with the changing leaves.

Nice but fairly small state park. No camping but tables, shelter, and grills. Enough parking usually but it does fill up. Visitors can make a reservation before arriving at the park as parking is limited (especially on nice weekends and holidays). Visitors who do not make a reservation will be admitted on a first-come/first-serve basis. Reservations can be made prior to arrival and no later than 3pm on the day of your visit. Please plan ahead in the event the parking areas reach capacity.Parking Fees: $15 per passenger vehicle. NH residents age 65 and over $0.Recreational Vehicles (RV) must pay $30 as they require 2 parking spaces.Reservations are still recommended.Tollboth: ClosedBathhouse: Open 8:00 am - 8:00 pm.

I absolutely love Hampton Beach. The beach is beautiful and always clean. Never had an issue with parking- go early enough and you'll get a great spot, it's not expensive either I think maybe $3 an hour. Visiting this park in the off season is a very pleasant experience. There are no parking fees. Dogs are welcome on the enormous sandy beach. Two of the three restrooms are open. The size of the playground is so large, and the equipment is so colorful, that if I were a child, I'd consider it an amusement park .

A pretty good beach. Very busy, but a fun day out with the family. Parking is pretty expensive, especially on weekends and holidays. Be prepared for traffic and a ton of pedestrians.

Halibut Point State Park in Rockport, just a 15-minute drive from Gloucester, offers stunning coastal views and a variety of activities. The park sits on 440 million-year-old granite and features wildflowers, a visitors center, sunbathing spots, hiking trails, and picnic areas. Once a granite quarry, the park now showcases the Earth's raw beauty and power.
I've been coming to Halibut Point State Park for about 7 years now. Over the past couple years, a lot of work has been completed to clean up the trails and the location in general. In the summer, there are lots of wildflowers coloring the scene, and the view down by the water is just amazing. If you don't mind a walk back in the dark... Sunset down by the water, or up in the cliffs is an absolute must.

I went to Halibut Point State Park on a nice spring Saturday afternoon this month. This state park was not crowded as it is the off season, however there were still many people coming and going for the beautiful views. Grounds were clean, dogs allowed at least for the season I went, and there are even some picnic benches around. There are restrooms as well. Not much parking so be sure to get there early during the warmer months. This is a perfect place to spend an hour or two and have lunch. There are some steep ledges at times so be aware with children/pets. I highly recommend this park to someone that is looking for a relaxed walking trail with some inclines at times depending which trail you take. All trails are marked clearly and the map at the entrance is easy to follow. Trails are clear and wide. Be sure to walk down to the rocks and see the breathtaking views.I will be coming back here in the summer!

We hiked around there and had a great time. There's a nice little loop around the lake with some side trails for extra hiking. There's tons of wildlife and they have a list of cool sites you can stop and check out including a rocky shoreline, a nice cliff (great for pictures) and more!

An amazing experience! Who knew there was a quarry tucked in next to the ocean? Sit next to it and enjoy watching the seagulls play in the biggest and most echoey bathtub ever.

honestly this is one of those places that you just HAVE to visit if you are in the area. if you live here, you already know about it. it's a really nice place to take a walk, to hang out with friends, to meditate, to breathe, to listen. it's definitely not the place for tomfoolery or littering, so be respectful and careful on the massive pile of rocks that constitute the viewpoint.

Beautiful looking state park. The rocks on the edge of the ocean makes it more enchanting. You can sit on the rocks and experience waves splashing at you whole day! I loved my time spending here as the weather was bit cloudy. Family and kids friendly place. Don’t forget to bring your own food if you decide to stay up for a little longer time. There is also a small walking trail.

Nice State Park with small easy walking trails that lead to different views of the ocean and the quarry inside. Parking for $5 for Massachusetts residents and $20 for non-residents. Fees contribute to the State Parks so are always a great contribution!

This park is incredibly beautiful, a veiw from every direction. This park is the perfect length for walking, takes you from fields of flowers to a stunning lake and then to the ocean. I believe the lighthouse has beverages, which had already closed when we were there, so check for hours or bring your own water because it can be quite warm in the summer. Also, there is a fee for parking, cheaper for residents, and there are porta-potties there which are across from the park. And if you want to bring your furry friend, it is also dog friendly. We had no problem maneuvering strollers around the park except for the path to the beach, it is steeper and very sandy.I hope you all get a chance to go and enjoy the veiw.

We came here at the end of March. The temperature was in the high 40s. It was out of season. Which made it nice because it was quiet. Great views of the ocean, the lighthouse, and the granite quarry. Walking trails take you to all three places.

It was a beautiful and easy walk. The views throughout the walk and at the point overlooking the water where you could see three (3) States were breathtaking!

A wonderful state park that has been maintained very beautifully. Parking for out of state vehicle is 20$.There is small trail that you can walk around and enjoy all the scenic points and it makes it worth while. The ocean view was majestic . The cool breeze was such a breather.Definitely worth visiting if you are here.

Bearskin Neck is a small neck of land that juts out of the town center into Rockport Harbor, and which according to legend was home to bears during colonial times. Currently it houses many Artisans and restaurants, making it a popular shopping desination, and is a picturesque walk anytime of the year. The look and feel has lended itself to be featured in several movies over the last 20 years. When you visit North of Boston , it is a must see area.

The Gloucester Fishermen's Wives Memorial is a touching tribute to the resilient women who supported the fishing community for centuries. Erected by the Gloucester Fishermen's Wives Association, this monument depicts a woman with a boy and an infant, looking out to the harbor entrance. Situated at the north end of Stage Fort Park, it stands as a counterpoint to the more famous Man At the Wheel memorial.

Ample parking available on the street. The most amusing things is that you can see the bridge open for boats to cross which causes traffic but it's nice to watch.Well maintained and definitely worth stopping here for the walk!

This complex used to have a great convenience store, a pharmacy, a bank, video store and a much better ice cream place that made ice cream cakes in addition to scoops. The pizza place has always been lame Greek style pizza with bad veggie subs. Now this building is filled with mostly quiet offices with little activity. I hear the owner charges high rent prices which is probably why there is such a lack of decent business here. It's a real shame. Lots of potential.

Located in Salem, Massachusetts, the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion was built by sea captain John Turner in 1668 and inspired Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1851 novel, The House of the Seven Gables. The house is a well-preserved example of early seventeenth century New England architecture and features seven gabled roofs and classical facade.
Our guide was outstanding, she showed us The House of Seven Gables and explained its history so well. Getting to see the original structure (atic) the secret staircase, the reasons for the rooms and ceiling heights as well as the grounds was quite an experience. The Hawthorne house was also quite impressive with how they moved it to the property to save it from being turned into a parking lot. Honestly well worth your time if you're in Salem.

Loved our visit to The House Of Seven Gables! The tour is very worth the price, as you get to see the whole house and climb a hidden staircase! You get to see authentic colouring, wall paper, and even Nathaniel Hawthorne's writing desk. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. It's a lovely place to walk around and be at peace.

Our family really enjoyed our visit. We had five people in our group, aged 15 to 63, and everyone had a great time. The home and the grounds are stunning. After your tour you're allowed to walk around the grounds and stop in the other buildings on site, including the museum store. Our tour guide was very well spoken and easy to hear and understand. The home tour is so incredibly fascinating. To see and experience all the history in the home, felt very magical. You literally step back in time. You even get to climb a hidden staircase. My mom has some mobility challenges due to her age and a medical condition. But she was able to navigate the home slowly and carefully. She ensured to stay in the back of the group so she could take her time going from room to room and taking the stairs. The tour guide was very patient and accommodating with her, which I greatly appreciate.

The tour was very interesting. The house is so neat and full of history. We learned a lot. The hidden staircase was extra fun! The grounds were beautiful as well. My only complaint is that our tour guide stood right in front of us all in each room, making it difficult to see all of the space. Otherwise I'd highly recommend the tour!

My family recently visited Salem for the first time. The House of Seven Gables was our first stop. We had 4 kids with us, different ages. At first, they weren't too excited to do the tour. Luckily, we had a friendly group and an amazing tour guide, Stephen. He made the tour exciting with his enthusiasm and whole presentation. Our favorite part was going up the secret tiny staircase. We loved seeing the home and learning about the history there. Great experience.

This was one of the best house tours I’ve ever taken- and that is saying something, I take a lot of house tours. The little historical tidbits they give about the architecture over the years and the inhabitants are so interesting. The house itself is amazing, I’ve never seen another one like it inside. It was a perfect stop on a gloomy spring day in Salem, absolutely worth the entrance fee. Our tour guide was also enthusiastic and knowledgeable. All around a good time. The little buildings around the main house are also pretty cool. The area is easily accessible and close to other interesting sites in Salem.

House of the Seven Gables has always held a special place in my heart. I remember finding it fascinating as a kid and still do to this day. During our most recent trip, our tour guide Frank, was awesome and knew the history. The Secret Staircase has always been the best part of the tour. If you don't feel like spending the $25 for the mansion tour, you can still tour the beautifully decorated grounds at a cheaper price. I highly recommend booking tickets in advance, especially on weekends and the Fall months. This is an attraction that you won't want to miss!

Amazing tour! Our guide, Scott, was very personable and knowledgeable. He navigated our questions with ease and charisma. The house is astonishing, you really can get a clear look into the past when you are surrounded by it. The slanted doorways and winding staircases (the secret one was quite the experience), the kitchen with its very low ceiling, and just the very cool history of everything and everyone that existed under these roofs. The gardens were also in full bloom and gorgeous.

A fantastic building and some classic historical early settlers architecture. The entire house and gardens has been made into a museum exploring the history and people that lived there. There is a great link to the literary classic the house represents and there is also a great self guided audio tour that you can access through your mobile phone while exploring the gardens.

Museums
The Salem Witch Museum is a popular destination for tourists who want to learn more about the infamous witch trials that took place in the town in 1692. The museum has large and lighted exhibits that illustrate the story of the trials, as well as modern witchcraft practices, after the events.
From the seamless online ticketing process to the well-structured tour, everything was well organized and hassle-free.The museum's setup is unique and interactive. Upon arrival, everyone gathers in the first room, where you're seated and immersed in a captivating 360-degree show about the history of Salem. The visuals and narration transport you back in time, allowing you to experience the events firsthand. It's a remarkable 10-minute journey that sets the stage for the rest of the tour. After the show, the group is divided in half, with one group proceeding to the second part of the tour while the other explores the gift shop. I found this division to be a great way to manage the flow of visitors, ensuring everyone has a comfortable experience. The second part of the tour delves deeper into the Salem witch trials, providing additional insights and historical context. It was fascinating to learn about the individuals involved and the impact these events had on the community. What impressed me most was how efficiently the entire experience was conducted. Despite covering a significant amount of information, the tour was completed in less than an hour, making it perfect for those with limited time. This concise format allows you to absorb the key aspects of Salem's history without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.Regarding the gift shop, I found it to be decent, but I would recommend checking out the Witch City Mall for a wider selection of souvenirs and mementos. However, the museum's gift shop does offer a good range of items related to the Salem witch trials, ensuring you can take a piece of history home with you.

We were searching for a place that didn’t sensationalize the witch stuff in Salem and really focused on the historical aspect of what transpired during that weird year 1692 in Salem, Mass. We hit the jackpot with the Salem Witch Museum. They focused on the actual history of what happened and the people who were involved. It was an eye opening adventure and the dramatic displays and audio performances captured the emotion and hysteria of the day. It was too bad that people who had to sit on the periphery of the great hall couldn’t see all the scenes but it was still effective. We loved how they focused on the current day and how humans tend to blame scapegoats for problems that we all can solve. Blaming people is dangerous and there are too many historical examples where people have been marginalized without evidence. Jews during the holocaust (and today), blacks from slavery to modern times, immigrants forever marginalized, especially with today’s political rhetoric. There’s too many to mention. A great lesson from the Salem Witch Museum is that fear from supernatural forces is delusional and fear of religious persecution is a much more relevant danger. Let’s love each other and be cautious of beliefs that thwart dignity and safety. Thank you Salem Witch Museum for your gallant mission.

I know that everyone wants to visit the witch museum when visiting Salem, but honestly I don't think it is an experience worth paying for. The manikins look like they were made in 1692 and never updated. The audio sounds like something from a 60's B rated sci Fi flick and the story is something you could just get from a YouTube video for free. Just go sit in the common and watch any video online about a witch story from the time. Not to mention that the presentation is made so if you are sitting on one of the walls you won't be able to see the part that is highlighted during the story right above where you are seated. If you are seated in the center you can view the story that is highlighted on turns on a 360 rotation one at a time if you turn around as the room doesn't.After the first room they take you in turns (meaning in 2 groups) to a smaller room to hear another audio tour. At least the sound on this one is a bit better. Again lots of outdated decorations and a wall full with things to read (the timeline of the story) but no time to read them as you are brought into the room to hear the audio tour and then told to move along to see other outdated decorations in the room. Then at the end you are lead into the gift shop to buy stuff. So basically you pay to enter a store.Having done it once, I would tell friends visiting me, that this is definitely not worth paying for. Maybe if it was free and you wanted to sit for a while, but you can't go in when you want to, so my recommendation is, skip it.
Chris V — Google review
We bought our tickets right at midnight, having heard they sell out quickly. However, upon arriving for our time slot, we faced a 30-minute wait in line before entering. Once inside, the setup was a bit disappointing. The main exhibit features mannequins high up telling the story of the Salem witches, but if you’re not seated in the middle of the room, your view is obstructed. After the initial presentation, the group splits, with half heading to the next part of the museum while the others wait in the gift shop. Since we had another tour scheduled, we skipped the gift shop wait. Overall, I didn’t feel this experience was worth the hype or the ticket price.
Megan R — Google review
The building is neat. The idea is very fun! There isn't much to do!!!! The museum consists of 2 areas to view with audio information. Then, you go into the gift shop. I would love to have a little more to see.
Victoria J — Google review
I really feel this place is overrated. It's great to learn some information, but the local area stories ALL conflict. You sit in one room, hear a story and a light shines on each part of the story on the figures made into the walls of the room. Then you move into another room with a few life-size figures, and that's it. It's very basic and outdated. See attached photos, that's all there is and a store.
Jessica S — Google review
This is a bit less museum and a bit more theater. There are two presentations, first a 25 minute narrated review in a darkened room of tableaus revealed one by one. The reveals are well done and have some interesting effects. Then a walk through exhibit with about a 10 minute narration. If you want to take your own time to learn and review exhibits, this might not be the place for you. If you do want a bit of theater with your facts without a full blown haunted house experience this might be a good happy medium.
José J — Google review
If you don't get a red seat near the center, it's not very easy to see some of the exhibits. It's a packed and fast experience. I think if you know about the witch trials, like really know the facts, it isn't worth it. The history wall is amazing, but you get so little time before the next group is coming through; you don't have time to follow the entire timeline. I will say they do a decent job, albeit watered down, of explaining the reality of The Craft at the very end.
Leslie S — Google review
Overall, it was a decent historical museum. All scenes and displays were non animated, and tape recorded nararated voices. The first portion was various scenes in an auditorium. The second portion was a few displays and a person guided tour. They do need to either modify the initial instructions given at the beginning of the presentation or follow the instructions given in regards to what to do after the presentation based on ticket color. This was confusing when they did not follow the information provided. Also, for $17.50 per person with as many presentations and people participating daily, I would have expected a little more.
Jennifer D — Google review
Just want to say that I was very disappointed. This is more of a modern day which store does not really cater to the Salem witch trials. Myself and present company were really looking forward to digging into more about the history. This was more like a tape that played and then exhibits that lit up.Myself being a history person, they did not get into the meat and potatoes of the Salem witch trials a lot of history that was missing. The display is a mess. You do not get to see all the exhibits unless you sit exactly in the middle. This is not set up does not work properly for tour. The tour felt extremely rushed and packed together with other tours. The gift shop is really nothing more than a shop for people that are just into witches does not refer to anything that happened in the past. For the history of this event before our nation was a nation I believe that they could do better it has potential but like so many other things it has become so commercialized. The sad thing is there was no history here given except an event we were very disappointed
Wayne T — Google review
For this "museum," you need to buy a timed ticket in advance as you can't buy tickets onsite.Depending on what time you arrive, everyone is split up in several groups since there are two parts of the guided tour.In the first half, everyone sits in a room, and there is a play by play show of the Salem Witch Trials using what looks like either mannequins or wax figures. After this show is completed, which lasts about 30 minutes, you either go to the next part of the tour or they have everyone hang out in the gift shop for about 10 minutes. Once you get to the second part of the tour, you see more mannequins/wax figures, and your guide presses buttons to give details on how witches have been depicted over the years since the dreaded Witch Trials. Once your tour is over, you are back once more in the gift shop.Overall, I really wouldn't classify this place as a "museum" as there are no real artifacts from that time period, but I was entertained by the little show from the first half. For the price of $17.50 you can spend at least an hour here, between the two presentations and browsing the great gift shop. I would recommend checking this place out if one is not concerned that this is not your usual type museum.

The staff here is amazing! I appreciated them more than anything. Because if them im able to give a 3 vs a 2.If you know the story of the Salem Witch trials, the SWM will not be the best use of your time or money unfortunately.Honesty the gift shop was by far the best part.Tickets must be purchased on their website starting at 12:01am they day of your in tended visit. The SWM was not what I expected. Museum is probably not the word i would use. There is a presentation and a guided tour.I hopefully they can add more to this experience like maybe unknowns facts about Salem and the witch trials.

It’s an interesting display and show that allows visitors to understand a little bit more of what happened during the witch trials. If you’ve read or watched The Crucible or are familiar with the history, there’s not really much for you here. There’s no photos or filming allowed insideI’m not sure I would call this a museum, as there’s only one exhibit, sort of. That being said, I’d still visit if I was here for the first time, but I can understand people that feel like this is a tourist trapI recommend buying tickets in advance particularly during October. They sell on midnight each day through the website during the month

The experience is nice, and the information is good about witches. I wish the visuals were a little more or maybe give a little more time for the people touring the museum to look at the exhibit.. but all in all, I would highly recommend visiting. The staff is super friendly and the gift shop is very nice and fairly inexpensive.

“Museum” with a sort of wax figure presentation of famous scenes that happened during the Salem Witch trials. There was a lot of information presented about how the witch trials began and details of the trials certain people faced - included info on Tituba, Sarah Good, Giles Corey, John Proctor, and more.I was advised at the visitors center as soon as we arrived in Salem to choose ONE of the witch museums if we were interested because they were all basically the same. We chose this one. We’re glad we went, but it was very much “go to this room and listen. Now go to this room and listen. Now leave,” so you couldn’t look around at your own pace. Considering the price, this wasn’t even close to being our favorite site in Salem. If you already feel you’re an expert on this piece of history, you might not learn much here. I have a bit more of a casual knowledge of the trials, so I did actually learn a bit.We didn’t have to wait and bought our tickets on the spot, but we were here in June. Might be a different story closer to Halloween.

This is an historical narrarated museum tour explaining the Salem witch trials.of 1692. It describes the different accounts of many people who were jailed, and executed because they were accused of being witches. The displays in the museum are basic but add in the narraration it makes it better. It is very educational so kind of worth it. When you enter the room with the red seats sit to the right so you can see all of the displays. Sitting to the left you will not be able to see all of the presentation.

I was really expecting more. The building is super cool on the outside. I thought with "Museum" in the name it would have artifacts and museum type things. Instead it was some Wax(?) figures with a voice over while you sat in a room. Then you get divided up so they can send you to their gift shop (it worked I bought stuff so kudos to them on their nice marketing ploy). It was cool but not at all what I expected

It's not really a museum. You buy tickets online the day you want to go with the time you want to go. Not what I was expecting but not bad either. They have some signs on the walls while you wait you can read them, they are pretty interesting. They also have one that lists the names of the accused etc. You can't take pictures inside. But you sit and it goes around the room lighting up scenes and explaining how it all started and what happened. Then they split the group- half goes to the 2nd part - half to the gift shop to wait for the second part. Overall I thought it was interesting and worth it. Just the name museum isn't really accurate but I wouldn't know what else they would call it.

The Peabody Essex Museum is one of the most famous and respected museums in the world, home to a vast collection of art from all around the world. The museum has rotating exhibits that span traditional and contemporary art, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Salem.
We loved our afternoon at Peabody Essex Museum! We reserved tickets from our local library, and picked them up at the front desk. Very easy process. We ditched the map and just followed the twists and turns to see what was around the next corner. The Chinese House was stunning. A must visit! Definitely made our trip. We also loved the Native American wing and the Garden Atrium. Would definitely come back for a new exhibit!

I love visiting art museums while on vacation and this one is absolutely beautiful. Unlike all the little museums I have visited during my trip, this place you can literally spend hours here admiring all the fantastic artwork. The museum is spread out over three floors, and it highlights all kinds of cultural and historic art, including the Salem Witch Trials. The exhibits are well maintained and very organized. They also have a cafe to pick up a quick bite, a gift shop, plenty of seating areas, a garden, and clean restrooms. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to see all the exhibits on my first visit, so I will be sure to come back the next time I visit Salem.

What a beautiful museum. I was particularly fascinated by the Native American exhibits. What a beautiful variety of pieces throughout history to today that gives you a better understanding of the history of America that we weren’t told in schools. Highly recommended- if you like museums, I’d plan for 4-5 hours. They say two, but we didn’t get through half of it in two hours. The arrangement is a little confusing, but I think it’s likely because the museum has just been added onto for years. That said, the staff were helpful!

Honestly if we had more time in Salem, we would've gone through much slower. There is so much to see and it's all excellent! A lot of unique items and displays. The Salem Witches was obviously a must but was of course the busiest section. The Illusions exhibit was so interactive and well displayed, it felt magical to walk through. The Nautical section is also a must!

It's a one time in a lifetime experience. I feel since the museum is in the heart of Salem. There should be more exhibitions on the witch trials. I loved that there were rooms with beautiful art. The museum is beautifully built and the gift shop was great. The food at the location was great, too. I was just disappointed that the exhibition for salem Witch trials was so dull. They only had like 3 rooms connected. They should have added color to match the theme of the trials to know and feel what it was like for the victims.

The Peabody Essex Museum is fantastic! It feels like stepping into a magical adventure with its immersive exhibits. The museum has a huge and diverse collection of art and artifacts, making it one of the largest and oldest in the U.S. You can see all kinds of art, like maritime, Asian, African, Native American, and decorative art. It’s a great place to explore different cultures and artistic traditions. Definitely a top cultural destination in Salem. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful visit to the Peabody Essex Museum, and it was even better because we got in for free through the Bank of America Free Museum program! We visited with our 3-month-old baby and found the experience to be incredibly family-friendly. The highlight for us was the excellent amenities, including a well-appointed nursing room, which made our visit so much more comfortable. The exhibitions were stunning and beautifully curated. My teenage daughter and I loved it. In my opinion, the Peabody Essex Museum is a more suitable venue for parents traveling with adolescents. There are lots of places outside the City of Boston posing as museums. However, the Peabody Essex Museum is an authentic, and meticulously well-curated museum. Although they do have an exhibit related to the Salem Witch Trials, the Peabody Essex Museum isn't dark spirited themed or overtly witch focused. There are lots of things to see and do there. Also, they have an indoor café and very clean restrooms, just in case you are traveling with infants. It is well worth the trip, and a terrific place for the entire family. It was a great father and daughter day out.FYI, things do get quite busy in that general part of Salem, where the Museum is located, during the Halloween season, only. Parking and traffic are nearly impossible during the Halloween season. Try to avoid coming during the Halloween season, if you can.

Great experience. The museum has a great variety in their collection. The kids enjoyed the fashion as well as the animal and nature rooms. Definitely go when you have time to wander as this can easily take 3-4 hours. We had lunch in their food court and the variety and quality were surprisingly good. Its hard sometimes when you have a couple of picky kids but we all found something good today.

We heard there is a bat exhibit at the museum And we just HAD to go check it out! We also bought tickets ahead of time for the China House which I would recommend it was really interesting. There's an audio tour that you can follow along on your phone or borrow little devices to listen follow along with. The museum is great because there's artifacts to look at, there's artwork, and they usually have a rotating gallery which is pretty cool.

Visited the museum a couple times while in the area and have loved it each time! Make sure to add your visit into the China house...it's history is well worth the walk through.

This was by favorite my favorite museum I’ve visited during my trip to Boston. It is wittingly comprehensive, ranging from modern political art galleries to ancient Japanese works of art. Great and in-depth footnotes are provided and the museum staff are friendly. It is worth a visit if you are in Salem.

This museum is awesome! You can easily spend an entire day here. The bats exhibit cleared up a lot of well known myths and shine a better light on these cute little critters. You’ll certainly gain a new appreciation for them. The Yin Yu Tang exhibit is absolutely gorgeous. So much history and detail within those walls. It’s so amazing they were able to ship the whole house from China and still maintain its structural integrity. There’s so much to see and enjoy!

The main museum was a great experience. I was impressed at how large and diverse the permanent exhibit is. I wish there were more maritime artifacts related to the actual ships given the rich history of Salem. The Yin Yu Tang house was such an incredible experience. Definitely worth purchasing the self-guided tour and adding that onto your visit.

The memorial park, located in Salem, Massachusetts, commemorates the 20 people who were executed as witches during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The stacked and inscribed granite stones abutting a burial ground are a reminder of the mass hysteria that occurred during those trials.
This is a really beautiful memorial for the victims of the witch trials. I highly recommend doing a tour & learning the details surrounding the events before coming here because it’s a lot more meaningful when you do! I found myself tearing up walking past each stone. It’s very well done. We came both during the day and once at night.

Who wouldn't want to spend their vacation exploring the Salem Witch Trials? This lovely chapter in history has it all - religious hysteria, false accusations, and good old fashioned persecution. Seeing the courthouse where lives were ruined based on hearsay really warms the heart. Don't forget the chilling old jail where the "witches" were kept. And the graveyard is just full of fun memories!Really, the Salem Witch Trials sites are so uplifting. Nothing like a lesson in injustice and intolerance to put a smile on your face. The creative "tests" for witchcraft are a true highlight. If you're looking for a delightful way to reflect on the progress we've made as a society, I can't recommend a visit here enough! A true blast from the past.

We visited the Salem Witch Trial Memorials in Salem, Massachusetts, and was deeply moved by the experience. This moving tribute honors the victims of the infamous witch trials, providing a haunting reminder of the dangers of hysteria and injustice. The memorial's design, featuring 20 stone benches and a tranquil park setting, creates a contemplative atmosphere, inviting reflection and introspection. What struck me most was the attention to historical detail and sensitivity. The memorials accurately represent the events, acknowledging the harm inflicted on innocent lives.Standouts:- The poignant inscriptions on each bench, sharing victims' stories- The stark, yet beautiful, architecture- The peaceful surroundings, encouraging quiet contemplationThis memorial serves as:- A testament to the importance of critical thinking and rationality- A reminder of the devastating consequences of fear-mongering- A tribute to the resilience of the human spiritVisiting the Salem Witch Trial Memorials was a humbling experience, leaving a lasting impression. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in history, social justice, or simply seeking a thought-provoking experience._Extremely Moving. Highly Recommended._

The self guided tour is free but you can get a guided tour. You really don't need one. Tje memorial is right next to the graveyard. It is a small open place with rock walls. In the walls there are rocks sticking out that has the names of all the witchcraft trials. It is a vety sad part of early American history. If you visit the cematary don't pass it by.

This is a very touching and somber memorial in remembrance of those wrongfully executed during the Salem Witch Trials. The admission to the memorial is free, and as you walk around reading all the names, you can see that flowers or trinkets are left on each of the victims' stones by visitors out of respect. You can also see that the tombstones in the cemetery can be quite illegible since everything is so old.In spite of what some other reviewers are saying, this place is worth visiting as it is still a piece of this towns tainted history. I just hope that after all these years, the men and women who were murdered are finally at peace.

Very busy tourist destination even in the summer, lots of shops,my daughter had her tarot done and we learned a lot about the poor woman who were put to death, one even pressed to death in the middle of the street! Really makes you think 🤔 Who were the bad ones? The woman who kept to themselves, lived alone, worshiping mother earth or the people killing them? They should be ashamed 😞 But everyone has an opinion and it's interesting to hear all the different sides, so much to do you should really make a weekend or vacation out of the visit because one day just isn't enough time. We'll definitely be back 💯

This was pretty cool to visit! My husband and two older kids had showed no interest, so they stayed in the car! My youngest had great interest in seeing the memorial. We visited the Witch Museum with the amazing dioramas!!!!!!! That is a must see!
Deborah L — Google review
This actual memorial is one of a few remaining things left in Salem that acknowledge the horrors that occurred here as people died, wrongfully accused of witchcraft. Now another horrifying event is happening in that the village is full of tourist witch tat. There are more Potter (Harry) gift shops than references to Puritans or Proctor. The pantomime show that Salem has become is utterly disgusting and disrespectful and I felt so disappointed. If you're coming for culture and education, don't bother. If you're coming for shitty witch gift shops with no reference to what happened here, you'll be in heaven.

Very emotional time in Salem, looking over these stones in the Witch Trial Memorial. Many of us were wandering around the space, leaving flowers and other little items to show we remembered and honored those lost at that time.

A very moving place, where the redidents of Salem were trying to make up the mistakes of the past. The monument was errected with the help of Eli Wiesel, who survived the Holocaust.

I purchased tickets at the Salem witch museum and watched a theatrical explanation of the trials. They presented a postcard that had a QR code (can be reused for the day) that could be use at shops around the museum for a discount price. I got something at the museum gift shop and got a tarot reading at another shop with the postcard. After I walked to the witch house(exterior only), graveyard and memorial for free and it's only about a block or two away.

A beautiful and humbling memorial of our troubled past. There are markers for those killed in the witch trials and offerings left by other individuals. The area is clean and seemed to be respected by those visiting when I was there. Just reading the memorials made the stories seem that much more tragic.Definitely a must see if you are visiting Salem.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace is a popular shopping mall in Boston with many stores and restaurants. It was built in 1742 by wealthy businessman Peter Faneuil, and has been a part of American history since its inception. The hall is famous for being the site of important speeches and gatherings during the early days of the American Revolution.
I went in here as a quick stop since we were just there for a day through a cruise, but I highly enjoyed myself and was wonderfully surprised at how educational it was. I didn't realize Boston was such a big part of our American history in more ways than one. It's truly inspirational; the spirit of revolution lingers in the air. The marketplace has an old structure, but it's pretty modern. I liked that I didn't really see a lot of big franchises or big brand names. Highly recommend this as a stop while in town.

What an experience! I've never seen a food marketplace like this before. I could have walked up and down the long hallway several times just to take in the scenery of food and the crowd. It's definitely a foodies dream come true. There are so many options to choose from. It makes your head spin. The displays of food are beautifully put together. The smells are tantalizing. The atmosphere of people wandering around looking at every food station trying to decide what to eat first. I recommend walking the whole market before you choose your first dish. If you're with friends and family, I also recommend starting off with something small, and each of you try a bite or two. I actually saw many people do this. Then I watched them move to another food vendor. They were taste testing all the varieties of food the market had to offer. My husband and I decided to sit at this little bar that served the BEST tasting clam chowda I've ever eaten. They had these lobster, clam, oyster, and shrimp display. Look at the pictures. The lobster rolls are really popular for foodies. They were roughly $28 for a meal.

What a great place to visit! It was busy and bustling with lots of booths offering different crafts and wares. Got some high quality Boston memorabilia here to bring back home with me. Better than all the cheap touristy stuff you could find elsewhere. Plus there's lots of history to look at after you shop!

Talk about a unique experience. If you ever watch those food shows where they go to these outdoor markets, this is one of those vibes. So much food to choose from, and very good. All of it. The earlier you arrive the better, as it gets super crowded about lunch time and stays packed. Lobster will steal the show, and the lines are very long but moves very quickly. So much to see and enjoy here

What a fun marketplace to visit! You quickly realize that you are inundated with a multitude of tantalizing food options. Come hungry! The most difficult thing about this marketplace is deciding which place to eat from. I'm a lover of truffles. I was excited to find a place that sold a nice assortment of truffles that I enjoyed very much. The ice cream was also refreshing and hit the spot just right. To sit outside on the steps in the cool afternoon September sun and listen to live music while enjoying an ice cream was a welcome break from sightseeing.

Faneuil Hall is one of the historic landmarks in Boston which served as a marketplace on the first floor and a meeting hall on the second floor built by Peter Faneuil in 1742. This historic marketplace is festive and fun to visit. It's amazing to see a large number of food options. All the food looks delicious and inviting that it is difficult to decide which food to eat. Main dining is located at the back for all diners. It truly is relaxing to sit at a nearby park listening to live music.

A lovely place to spend a few hours on a weekend, but the 'touristy' aspect of the places means the prices of the souvenirs may be a bit higher than other places. The food is also great and you have a huge variety to choose from! One of the most iconic, picturesque locations in Boston, and located right in the heart of the city! Directly southwest of Boston Common, the Public Garden is a great place for a walk or run. Bikes, scooters, and skateboards are prohibited. There’s a decent selection of trails around the pond in the center, especially with its relatively small size. Don’t miss the Washington statue at the entrance, it makes for some great photos against the skyline!

The Public Garden is a peaceful place to visit year round. Go for the tulips in the spring, picnics and swan boat rides in the summer, changing leaves in the fall and some year end self reflection in the winter. It’s one of the most accessible attractions within the city. A must visit for tourists and residents alike.

Fenway Park is home to the Boston Red Sox and occasionally features big-name concerts. It's an historic, small-capacity ballpark with a kid-friendly Wallys Clubhouse that can be visited during between innings of a Red Sox game.
We stopped by on Thanksgiving just to see the park whilst on our short stay. Even though we knew there was no games on, or bars open it was still a great trip to be able to walk around and see all of the great moments outside of the park as well as being able to take some great pictures. With all the different bars around, and food places I can imagine it's a great atmosphere when there is a game on. Would love to return and watch a Red Sox game.

This was a great tour. Fenway is a national treasure and it was great to see some of the behind the scenes areas of the park. The tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly. I think everyone should check this tour out whether you're a baseball fan or not.

This is a baseball temple. Everyone should see at a Fenway. Does not matter if you like baseball or not. The field is aesthetically stunning. The experience was everything I dreamed it would be.Getting to the park is easy, I was able to walk from my accommodations near the commons. Gates open 90 minutes before and security is easy.Seats in the grandstand are pretty uncomfortable if you are tall, but they are covered. Seats don’t all face home plate.

Iconic and beautiful. For a 100 year old stadium it has all the charm. No frills /luxury and seats that are old and uncomfortable but you can’t beat the atmosphere and scenery of the Green Monster and the walk down Landsdowne St. Being able to walk outside to grab food and shop across the street is a nice luxury. Food was reasonable for. MLB park. Loved the visit!

Beautiful historic ballpark! We came here to see Green Day. Security was efficient and we got in quickly. We had a little trouble finding our seats, but an employee led us to them. Even though we had side-stage seats, the smaller size of the park meant we were still fairly close to the stage. The sound was amazing too! It was also easy to get out at the end of the show, no bottlenecks at the gates. Would absolutely come here again!

Huge shout out to fan services and the first aid staff! So as I was walking to Fenway, I tripped and fell and got bumped up a bit. The staff was great, and the bandage and ice pack definitely helped the bruising and swelling go down. Seriously, each staff member we encountered was very helpful and pleasant. The game was fun, and there was a variety of food choices. Loved watching the field maintenance team come out and fix the clay between innings. The music during the game helped to keep the spirit going, and the Sox won! Great park and fun to see all the fans participate in the action.

A friend and I had the opportunity to tour Fenway Park, and it was the most amazing place I have ever been seen. I recommend taking a tour of the stadium before you go to a game. Anywhere you decide to or whatever team you love!It shows you all the grandeur of the stadium before you get to take the opportunity to watch a game, so it's worth it! We had the opportunity to see actual Gardens there at the stadium and sit at the top of the big green monster in the seats and in the Press Box looking across to the red seat that a man at one time was hit in the head with a baseball and it's to be the longest distance that they have hit a baseball. So much to see and so much history that we wouldn't know by just going to a game. I highly recommend doing this before each stadium you go to to see a baseball team play!

The experience was finally a reality for me . Wait was 33 yrs . The atmosphere , the park ,the history. It was all amazing. The 8inn stretch of SWEET CAROLINE. Had myself a great seat , got me a foul ball in game 1 and in game 2 sat by the bullpen and got another ball tossed at me by pitcher .

My wife surprised me with a trip to see the Jays at Fenway, the Vatican of ballparks. What a fantastic venue for baseball. A must see for any fan of baseball. It's living history! I can't say enough about being there and the atmosphere of being in such a fantastic place. We didn't want to leave once the game was over and hung out just taking in the moment. The next day we took a tour of the park and learned more of it's origins. I'd highly recommend it. A lot of Jays fans were taking tour as well. This should be a must do on anyone's bucket list.

What can I say! Fenway Park is awesome and legendary! It’s the best place I have ever watched a baseball game! What’s so cool about it is that it’s so much more than the game. It’s a party and the whole city of Boston is in on it! The game was supposed to start at 630 and with the rain delay it started around 740 and I wasn’t bored at all! The music, the crowd, the energy, the videos, all of it was awesome! A must for anyone visiting Boston! They also have the best store for any professional team that I’ve ever seen. It is huge!

Fenway was a bucket list stadium for me, and it lived up to the hype. I happened to be in Boston while the Yankees were in town, so I had to catch a game. I spent roughly $500 for two tickets on the 6th row behind the visitors dugout. Although the seats were really close to the field, the netting blocked a good amount of our view. We didn't get a ton of food since I have a gluten allergy, but I did find a hot dog stand with a gluten free bun, but it was nothing special. Overall, the experience was incredible and I'm glad we were able to go.

A historical ball park that definitely lives up to the hype! I visited Fenway twice while I was in Boston for both a night and day game and it did NOT disappoint! I absolutely recommend catching a game here if you’re in town!

My husband and I took a tour, and there is no other option so far, to visit the stadium without tour, and that’s the negative point for me. Everything went smooth and the guy guided us, he was nice and prompt to explain everything. On their website says doesn’t allow backpacks however, on my group had a person with a backpack and I entered with a Target bag. Overall we had a great experience there, even we’re not a baseball fan.

Fenway Park is a must-visit for any baseball fan, steeped in over a century of history as the oldest Major League ballpark. Home of the Red Sox, it’s full of charm and nostalgia, with the iconic Green Monster and original features that take you back in time. The atmosphere is electric during games, with passionate fans creating an unforgettable experience. Even if you’re not into baseball, the rich history and lively vibe make it worth the visit.

Most amazing and nostalgic parks you can visit. Everyone in the stadium are very helpful and the fans even forgave me for being a Astros fan. But the most friendly people I ran into were O fans. Had an amazing evening with America's sport.

So this is a bucket list ballpark, the history the architecture it all comes together here. How can you not give it 5 stars. On top of all that they have done a great job of maintaining and modernized without sacrifice. We had great seats the Boston fans were nice, if not inviting but overall great to enjoy the game with

We had an amazing visit to Fenway Park today. We've been to a couple of games previously, but thought we'd try the tour today since we had so much fun doing the Wrigley Field tour in Chicago a few months ago. While this tour doesn't take you into the dugout, clubhouse, or on the field like Wrigley did, the tour was still very neat and incredibly informative. Also, our tour guide was the best. This is a highly recommended experience!

Got to go to a Saturday Night game and Sunday afternoon game. The ballpark exceeded all of the hype. The views from both of my sections were great. The pregame tour was also really fun. We got to see some batting practice and learned some history about the team and the park. Definitely go to a game here!

Very diverse museum with plenty of pieces from different regions of the world throughout varying time periods. I think this museum offers a good range for people who are hardcore history fanatics or the casual visitor that just wants to have a new experience. My advice would be to take your time and read the descriptions of the pieces that catch your attention. If you try to read everything, you'll burn yourself out. Take a break and visit the cafe.

So, a breakdown; this museum is amazing! I have some pics I took but not all! I highly recommend going through the museum from second level to first to see everything and having a map! There is so much art and wonderful exhibits here! I went through the Monet, Dali, and the Japanese exhibit they had and highly recommend the gift shop for mementos! The museum is curated well and what was a big draw for me was they had Van Gogh's work here, about 3 of them. This museum was the highlight of my trip to Boston. If you love art or history I recommend coming here! For the giftshop it is pricey but worth it for me to have keepsakes, there are pins from the museum and reusable bags with printed art on them.

I visited this museum in mid August 2024. They were having a special exhibition of Salvador Dali. Very nicely done. Good explanation of the art work and the artist's inspiration. Loved it.This museum does a wonderful job displaying a wide range of art in a mid size space.I also enjoyed the exhibit - Thinking Small: Dutch Art to Scale, featuring all the miniature art work.

The MFA was surprisingly amazing! I knew it was a good art museum, yet I had no idea we had such an incredible bounty of art history and culture in Boston! The cafe and amenities were great and high-quality, and the displays were simply awe-inspiring. The Egyptian section is very thoughtful, and the European paintings almost made me cry with the effort and skill. The gift shop is also quite nice!! Haha!

Wonderful experience for visiting the great museum. I pretty much spent whole day here. So many amazing pieces being well preserved and presented. Hopefully I will have more time to visit again in the future. BTW, the museum closes on Tuesdays. And there are plenty food and drinks services inside the museum. There is a parking lot too( not free).

As I approached the museum, the grand neoclassical façade promised a world of treasures inside, and it did not disappoint. The museum is well-organized, with clear signage directing visitors to various exhibits—making the exploration both effortless and engaging.Inside the museum, I was struck by the thoughtful presentation of art from across eras and continents. Notable was a bronze statue, possibly from the 15th-century, its verdigris patina lending an air of timelessness. The sculpture seemed to gaze at passersby, offering a silent narrative of history’s depth.Equally impressive was a dramatic painting depicting what appeared to be a historic scene of chaos and grandeur, its dark, swirling sky looming over classical architecture. The painter’s mastery of light and shadow brought the scene to life, engulfing me in the depicted moment of turmoil and majesty.

The Museum Of Fine Arts (MFA) was worth every cent! What a special surprise birthday gift from my fiance. The John Singer Sargent Exhibit was amazing! His paintings were/are so detailed, so clear as if the portraits of the people posing for his expertise painting session would have reached out or moved. Honestly his paintings are magnificent, just absolutely stunning! Each painting displayed was so large and placed in beautifully carved wooden frames with a plaque of a description. To think just how old each painting was truly set my mind into nostalgic mode. Honestly a will set you back and think before technology. I am still in awe!!! Also, the Cafe was delicious, plus musical entertainment with dancers and amazing Lime Green glass art by Dale Chihuly is next to the courtyard. I seriously didn't want to leave MFA, but we were there for 4 hours and had to move along to other plans. ⭐I highly recommend!

This is a huge museum.. and by huge I mean MASSIVE! You can easily spend an entire day here, going through the various exhibits and galleries. They have exhibits of a diverse range of topics, ranging from musical instruments to ancient Egypt! There are 2 levels and many many galleries on each level. The main hall and rotunda are just magnificent and seem like ones from a palatial building!Had a wonderful visit here, and despite spending more than 3 hours, I was only barely able to see the main level properly and just skimmed through the second level.

One of my happy places. There are always amazing exhibits and incredible displays of artwork. Beautifully curated and I will always love the Buddha statue temple room. We were there recently twice to see the Hallyu! The Korean Wave exhibit which was amazing. We will be going back soon for the new Dalí exhibit.

Amazing museum.I mainly went for the Hallyu exhibit, however I had enough time to explore and go around all the other exhibits as well. The layouts were quite good and they had great videos playing showcasing various aspects of works. They had many exhibits that appealed to different individuals, and overall had wonderful pieces of work that I never knew existed. Definitely will visit again.

This is a must when visiting Boston. We came closer to close so we only stayed for about two hours but there was so much to see. They have everything from ancient Egypt to Greek mythology to Asian history. I liked their interactive displays for certain artifacts and that there were many places to sit and rest. I highly recommend but would say to set aside at least 3-4 hours at the minimum to see everything.
Faith F — Google review
Lots of Egyptian artifacts, which is great. If you are looking for the paintings, they are near the top floorThe layout of the museum is a bit confusing and it was hard to find an exit. The food area is a bit strange and overpriced; seemed out of place.
Peter F — Google review
I went during the week on a random afternoon, and the museum was not busy. Made for a great, low-stress experience. The staff were very nice. I'm always impressed with their rotating exhibits. The art of Europe and Americas wings are popular attractions. If you plan on going during a busy day, reserve tickets in advance.
Alex Z — Google review
Decent variety of artwork spanning across the ages. The general map they hand out is too high level so it’s hard to find specific artists and where they are located. Ex, John Singer Sargent. And the online search wasn’t efficient enough for this either. Cafe next to the store is available to sit and rest tired legs. Coat and bag check available. You can spend multiple hours here and not be able to see it all.

Minute Man National Historical Park, located along Route 2A near Concord Center, is a significant site in American history. It encompasses the route taken by the Redcoats during the Revolutionary War and features historical landmarks such as Old North Bridge and The Wayside. Visitors can explore the area where the first battle of the war took place and learn about Paul Revere's ride through reenactments on Patriots Day.
A great walking path and tons of history to be seen. Amazing and I wish I could visit here more often. The scenery is great and the little places and historical sites you find along the way are very interesting. They offer things like historical battle recreations and working musket demonstrations too. The little pieces of trivia along the trail are also very interesting.

This was such a lovely, beautiful, and historic place. There were a number of historic buildings and sights along the very long trail. The trail was open to the public, and was free to enter, and the trails were very well kept. There were a few descriptions and signs for a few of the buildings, explaining their history, too, which was great to see

This place is awesome. Its a very large park with 2 visitors centers and several historic buildings. Rangers are personable and helpful. You can drive to each site.

This park has many historical sites and is mostly built around events that happened between Lexington and Concord. The road also doubles as a very nice walking or running path. This park doesn't require entrance fees like many other parks. There is a visitor's center that has lots of good information and some guided tours along with many history markers and houses. However, the week we were there the visitor center was closing at noon instead of 5:00 like is posted online. I don't know how to tell people to check closing time because they just put up a temporary physical sign at the entry. It might be possible to call them.We had a wonderful tour/walk with a friendly park ranger who told us about a nearby skirmish site, what we know and what we wish we knew.

The tour guides brought these events to life for us. It was an especially hot day but still an incredible experience to walk where those brave farmers walked to defend what they held most dear: their families, their faith, and their freedom. I was asked to consider a stirring question: what would I be willing to die for?

Remarkable experience…to walk the same area that these brave men walked, as they made history and began the American Revolution. It is a beautiful place, no matter the season. Be aware that for several months in the colder season the visitor centers are closed. I did not know this and so the kids were unable to get their passport stamps.

Lots of great history of our country. Probably one of the best "videos" at any National Park. Very nicely done, tells the local story of the Old North Bridge, Paul Revere's ride, and the battle that started it all. A great side trip is the cabin near the bridge, where you can learn about Ellen Garrison. She doesn't give up her seat LONG before Rosa Parks.

We throughly enjoyed our visit. The folks in the visitor's center were friendly and recommended the 2pm ranger talk. We are so glad we walked down to the bridge with the guide and heard the retelling of the events leading up to the conflict at the bridge. The rangers were so knowledgeable and seemed to make the history come alive. The bridge is in a scenic spot, and the flower gardens increase the beauty of this picturesque location. Our kids enjoyed the activities in the Jr. Ranger books and earning badges too.

A nicely maintained, paved path with clearly marked historical markers, nestled away in a nature setting. We appreciated getting more of the story behind Paul Revere's epic ride and reading the historical posts, including that of the British soldiers. The visitor center was closed for an unknown reason the day we were on site.

This is a great area surrounded by nature and full of history. The Battle Trail is a nice walk or bike. I rode my bike and there was some good little downhill in the northwest direction. I did round trip and it was around 7 miles. The old buildings remind you of what was and how we got here. The battlefields hold so much memory. Imagine a redcoat or blue coat hiding behind a tree with musket in hand, as you walk through. Stop by all the signs and get the facts.Enjoy your visit and bikers remember that walkers are on trail.

Such an amazing experience to stand where the revolutionary war started. Parking is close by to the top of the hill closest to the museum and gift shop. As you step out you are over looking the field that shows the north bridge in the background. If you follow the path down the hill and around the field it will bring you to the bridge. Such a great place, rich with history beneath your feet.

If you are a Revolutionary War buff, you will love this place for the historical sites. The North Bridge was my favorite spot. We listened to a costumed ranger talk about the minute men. They do this twice a day at Hartwell tavern. They also did a musket firing demo. You could visit this park and just hit the highlights without spending a lot of time, or slow down and look at every site.
Prudence L — Google review
She found this place and we wanted to get out so figured we’d check it out. It was actually really cool! It was like you got to experience what they experienced way back when, within reason. Walking down the same roads, in the heat, but them not knowing if they would make it or be ambushed. The plaques were very descriptive and helpful. Lots of history in a pretty small area. Definitely glad we went. PET OWNERS PICK UP YOUR POO BAGS! We saw like 3 or 4 around the park which is absolutely unacceptable. We took our dogs but would be a shame if they every ban dogs due to lazy people. There was also a restroom facility and water about halfway of the area we toured so that was helpful. Everything was very well maintained and such. You can go in the one house if it’s open that day and talk to a staff person about stuff.

Was sad that the trail is under construction and can't get to the north bridge. But still many sites to see

North Bridge in Concord is a historic replica of the 1775 bridge where the first shots of the American Revolution were fired. It's located in a picturesque setting within Minute Man National Historical Park, surrounded by wooded areas and rolling pastures. The bridge holds significant historical importance as it was the site of a key battle during the American Revolution, marking the first American victory. Visitors can stroll through Colonial-period stone walls and explore plaques that add to its historical aura.
This is where it all began. There is so much history located with miles of North Bridge for those who wish to learn about the history of the United States for both young and old. There are also many options to view the entire route from walking or biking the approximately 5-6 miles “Road to Revolution” path or by vehicle. If you travel by vehicle, there are numerous parking lots close to the key landmarks directly involved on April 19, 1775. Make sure to stop at the several visitor centers including the North Bridge and Minute Man visitor centers. If your lucky enough to be near the North Bridge Visitor Center, take the U.S. Park Service tour, which is offered I believe at least twice a day, you will learn so much and from a totally different perspective.

It’s a bridge with two statues and some monuments. Park rangers provide tours around the area. Overall a neat little place, but nothing to travel from Boston for. Do this in conjunction with something else in the area, like visiting Walden Pond.

The North Bridge is one of the key historic landmarks of the Minute Man National Park. The historical events are clearly presented in an engaging way. Walking along the Battle Road Trail enhances the experience. Landmarks along the way are easy to spot and makes it easier to follow the sequence of historical events that led to the battle.

If you do come here I really recommend getting a local Lexington step on guide like I did. This way they can point out and show you how the battle happened and the history behind it and they do dress as if they are in the time period. The concord River will not disappoint you its absolutely beautiful I just wish that every school group would visit here.

The Old North Bridge in Concord is an absolute gem that beautifully encapsulates both the rich history and the serene beauty of the area. Stepping onto this iconic bridge feels like stepping back in time, into a moment that forever changed the course of history. The bridge itself is a charming architectural wonder, standing as a testament to the past. As I walked across it, I couldn't help but imagine the courageous Minutemen who once stood before the imposing redcoats, ready to defend their homeland. The courage and determination of those who fought here on April 19th, 1775, reverberate through the very air, reminding us of the sacrifices made for the sake of freedom and independence. The peaceful river flowing beneath the bridge seems to hold the echoes of that historic day, flowing gently as a symbol of the tranquility that came after the storm of battle. The juxtaposition of the serene waters and the memory of past strife is a poignant reminder of the enduring spirit of the American people.Surrounded by magnificent gardens, the Old North Bridge area is a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. The gardens themselves are a sight to behold, with vibrant colors and fragrant blooms that invite contemplation and reflection. To stroll through these gardens while contemplating the events that unfolded here is a truly immersive experience. What strikes me most is the sense of beauty and freedom that pervades the area. Standing in this place, knowing the bravery and sacrifice that unfolded here, is a humbling experience. It's a reminder of the power of unity and the determination to stand up for what's right, even in the face of adversity. The Old North Bridge in Concord isn't just a landmark; it's a living testament to the ideals that have shaped our nation. The sense of history, the tranquility of the river, and the stunning gardens all come together to create an unforgettable atmosphere that leaves a profound impact on anyone who visits. If you're seeking a place that combines history, beauty, and a deep sense of patriotism, the Old North Bridge is an absolute must-visit.With gratitude for the past and hope for the future,Jean-Louis Eck

Amazing and historical and the bridge is still very structurally sound. No one bothers you even though there is usually a decent amount of people around. A very picturesque place in historic concord. A must go for anyone traveling to concord.

Very nice bridge to walk to, a short walk from multiple nearby parking lots. Easy to get to thanks to well maintained large trail walkways. Careful in winter and check the NPS website or look for signs stating if the trails are open.

It is a beautiful fall day. I am visiting for the first time. A park ranger approached me and "investigated" me for being there. My name, birthdate and driver's license were required to continue off the property. I will not return.

I NEVER KNEW THAT THEY MADE THE FALLOUT 4 BRIDGE IN REAL LIFE! THAT'S SO COOL!I'm joking of course, but the location is very impressive and historically significant to the American Revolution. This battle was the first American victory in the American Revolution. There are plenty of plaques and marks in the location that only add to the historical aura of this bridge.Wether you're a Fallout 4 fan, history buff, or tourist, this bridge is a great visit!

At this location, Britain groaned as America was born! It is where we started! The history and beauty of the location are breath taking. If you don't feel the history, you're not paying attention.

While maybe not that much too see, there is a ton to experience as you embrace the enormous historical importance this little place and (replica) bridge has had.If you can obtain a guided tour, I think you will benefit greatly from this.

North Bridge is a definite must see when visiting Lexington. America started right on this spot. We all know about the Washington's and Jefferdons but the average farmer who fought in these fields and on this bridge are who won the Revolutionary War for us. America as we know it would not exist if not for these historical places. It's free to visit.

The tour was the highlight of our family’s Plymouth experience. 10/10 would (and will) recommend to anyone visiting Plymouth. The team was welcoming and friendly. We did the walking tour with our kids and it was doable for all (aged 11-3). It was educational and inspiring to hear the stories in their original historical context and place.

We got there just before they closed and you would never have known that they probably were exhausted, because they were so enthusiastic and educational and answered all of our questions with such cheerfulness. If you are in Plymouth, don’t miss out on the best historical walking tour you will ever take. We enjoyed two wonderful tours around Plymouth from Leo Martin. He is highly knowledge, a treasure trove of factual & historical information regarding the Pilgrims & Plymouth. Leo and Nancy are wonderful people committed to preserving the true history of the Pilgrims. The Jenney Center museum was wonderful as well.

We are giving it 5 starsCouples/May 20Plymouth's best kept secret!Come here with an open mind if you are interested in hearing the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about our nation's Godly heritage that we so seldom have an opportunity to hear.My husband and I recently had the pleasure of meeting Leo and his lovely wife, Nancy, while in Plymouth/New England. We enjoyed visiting many of our nation's fascinating historical sites while in the region, but Leo's "Discovering Plymouth's History" presentation was a highlight, if not THE highlight of our vacation!! It was so refreshing to hear the unbiased, WELL DOCUMENTED, unopinionated truth about our nation's Christian roots. We were in such awe of his knowledge, we would have listened to every presentation and tour he had to offer had time permitted. My husband and I are extremely grateful to Leo for the bold stand he takes every day to proclaim the truth-regardless of the backlash! I think that the same Spirit that guided the Pilgrims here in the first place is alive and well in this kind and courageous man!

The Jenney Museum's monument tour was the highlight of our family's visit to Plymouth. And their walking tour was so great we did it twice, once ourselves and then later with friends. We learned so much. Leo does all the tours and he is fantastic. Don't miss these! Leo is the best resource here, if you want to learn about the Pilgrims and what they stood for.

You can book historical tours through their website and they are well worth it. We did the 90 minute walk covering the history of the city and we were quite pleased with what we saw and how knowledgeable Leo was because we learned a lot. He was engaging and friendly and really added to the experience. Well worth your time if you want to learn about the area.

If you stop at Plymouth and want to learn anything about the Pilgrims you must take one of Leo Martin's walking tours. He is amazing and so knowledgeable. Wish they would teach this in school. Learned so much. Take the whole family or just go yourself. Do not pass up this opportunity.

Worth every penny! Such great information about the TRUTH of the pilgrims. They came for freedom of religion and were led by God! What powerful truths Leo shares. It resounded in my heart! I left wanting to be a better mother, wife, scripture reader and improve my relationship with the Savior and my Heavenly Father! I loved Leo sharing the information about the Monument to the Founding Fathers.
